Emergency Aid Grant

The emergency aid grant can be awarded to a student who is temporarily in a difficult financial situation due to reasons beyond their control.

The application for the aid grant shall be submitted without delay, but not later than within 6 months from the date of the event giving entitlement to the benefit.

In particular, the aid grant can be awarded due to:
    1. unfortunate accident;
    2. serious illness of a student, their parents, siblings in the same household, or their spouse or children,
    3. substantial losses as a result of a natural disaster,
    4. birth of a child (if both parents are students of the University, one of them is entitled to the aid grant);
    5. death of a person from the closest family (parents, siblings in the common household, spouse, children),
    6. other unforeseeable events caused by force majeure (e.g. natural disasters or similar events caused by natural forces, war, industrial actions, terrorist attacks).

Loss of income in the family is not a basis for obtaining the aid, but for recalculating income in order to obtain a maintenance grant.

How to correctly apply for emergency aid grant?

After logging into the USOSweb system, select (top tab): COMMON SECTION and then APPLICATIONS. The application must be accompanied by documentation confirming the situation (e.g. birth certificate, death certificate, other documents confirming the situation). Due to the fact that the University of Opole does not have a cash desk, scholarships are transferred to students’ personal accounts. The account number (personal account number) should be entered in USOSweb in the SCHOLARSHIPS – ACCOUNT NUMBER tab. If you encounter technical problems while filling out the application, please send a message describing the problem to helpdesk@uni.opole.pl. In the subject line, please write ‘USOSweb applications’ and in the body of the message, provide your full name, login ID, study programme (field of study) and year of study. Please provide a detailed description of the problem and, if the problem occurs in a specific place, please provide the screen number (each page of the application form has a label in the format ‘Screen X’).

NOTE: After the aid grant has been awarded, you must collect the decision in order to receive the payment into your account. Decisions shall be delivered electronically in the USOS system!
